Gene Ontology Molecular Function
Affinity Capture-Western
An interaction is inferred when a bait protein is affinity captured from cell extracts by either polyclonal antibody or epitope tag and the associated interaction partner identified by Western blot with a specific polyclonal antibody or second epitope tag. This category is also used if an interacting protein is visualized directly by dye stain or radioactivity. Note that this differs from any co-purification experiment involving affinity capture in that the co-purification experiment involves at least one extra purification step to get rid of potential contaminating proteins.

KPC1 expression and essential role after acute spinal cord injury in adult rat.
KPC1 (Kip1 ubiquitylation-promoting complex 1) is the catalytic subunit of the ubiquitin ligase KPC, which regulates the degradation of the cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitor p27(kip1) at the G1 phase of the cell cycle. To elucidate the expression and role of KPC1 in nervous system lesion and repair, we performed an acute spinal cord contusion injury (SCI) model in adult rats. Western ... [more]
