Affinity Capture-Western

An interaction is inferred when a bait protein is affinity captured from cell extracts by either polyclonal antibody or epitope tag and the associated interaction partner identified by Western blot with a specific polyclonal antibody or second epitope tag. This category is also used if an interacting protein is visualized directly by dye stain or radioactivity. Note that this differs from any co-purification experiment involving affinity capture in that the co-purification experiment involves at least one extra purification step to get rid of potential contaminating proteins.

Determinants of CREB degradation and KChIP2 gene transcription in cardiac memory.

Ozgen N, Lau DH, Shlapakova IN, Sherman W, Feinmark SJ, Danilo P, Rosen MR

Left ventricular pacing (LVP) to induce cardiac memory (CM) in dogs results in a decreased transient outward K current (I(to)) and reduced mRNA and protein of the I(to) channel accessory subunit, KChIP2. The KChIP2 decrease is attributed to a decrease in its transcription factor, cyclic adenosine monophosphate response element binding protein (CREB).This study sought to determine the mechanisms responsible for ...
