Affinity Capture-Western
An interaction is inferred when a bait protein is affinity captured from cell extracts by either polyclonal antibody or epitope tag and the associated interaction partner identified by Western blot with a specific polyclonal antibody or second epitope tag. This category is also used if an interacting protein is visualized directly by dye stain or radioactivity. Note that this differs from any co-purification experiment involving affinity capture in that the co-purification experiment involves at least one extra purification step to get rid of potential contaminating proteins.

JAK-STAT and JAK-PI3K-mTORC1 pathways regulate telomerase transcriptionally and posttranslationally in ATL cells.
Adult T-cell leukemia (ATL) is a heterogeneous tumor that is resistant to chemotherapy. Telomerase activity plays a critical role in tumorigenesis and is associated with the prognosis of ATL patients. Interleukin (IL)-2 commonly promotes tumor growth in chronic ATL cells. The signaling pathways involved in IL-2-regulated telomerase activation were studied in ATL cells derived from chronic ATL patients. IL-2 challenge ... [more]
