Affinity Capture-Western
An interaction is inferred when a bait protein is affinity captured from cell extracts by either polyclonal antibody or epitope tag and the associated interaction partner identified by Western blot with a specific polyclonal antibody or second epitope tag. This category is also used if an interacting protein is visualized directly by dye stain or radioactivity. Note that this differs from any co-purification experiment involving affinity capture in that the co-purification experiment involves at least one extra purification step to get rid of potential contaminating proteins.

Negative regulation of CD40-mediated B cell responses by E3 ubiquitin ligase Casitas-B-lineage lymphoma protein-B.
It has been documented that CD40 is essential for B cell function. Casitas-B-lineage lymphoma protein-b (Cbl-b), an adapter protein and ubiquitin ligase, has been shown to regulate the activation of T and B cells through their Ag receptors. In this study, we report that CD40-induced B cell proliferation is significantly augmented in mice lacking Cbl-b. Furthermore, Cbl-b(-/-) mice display enhanced ... [more]
