Affinity Capture-Western

An interaction is inferred when a bait protein is affinity captured from cell extracts by either polyclonal antibody or epitope tag and the associated interaction partner identified by Western blot with a specific polyclonal antibody or second epitope tag. This category is also used if an interacting protein is visualized directly by dye stain or radioactivity. Note that this differs from any co-purification experiment involving affinity capture in that the co-purification experiment involves at least one extra purification step to get rid of potential contaminating proteins.

CBFA2T3-ZNF651, like CBFA2T3-ZNF652, functions as a transcriptional corepressor complex.

Kumar R, Cheney KM, Neilsen PM, Schulz RB, Callen DF

A significant proportion of the human genome codes for transcription factors. Balanced activity of transcriptional activators and repressors is essential for normal development and differentiation. Previously we reported that a classical C2H2 zinc finger DNA binding protein ZNF652 functionally interacts with CBFA2T3 to repress transcription of genes containing ZNF652 consensus DNA binding sequence within the promoters of these target genes. ...
