Affinity Capture-Western
An interaction is inferred when a bait protein is affinity captured from cell extracts by either polyclonal antibody or epitope tag and the associated interaction partner identified by Western blot with a specific polyclonal antibody or second epitope tag. This category is also used if an interacting protein is visualized directly by dye stain or radioactivity. Note that this differs from any co-purification experiment involving affinity capture in that the co-purification experiment involves at least one extra purification step to get rid of potential contaminating proteins.

pVHL19 is a biologically active product of the von Hippel-Lindau gene arising from internal translation initiation.
The von Hippel-Lindau (VHL) gene encodes a protein consisting of 213 amino acid residues with an apparent molecular mass of 30 kDa (pVHL30). Here we show that cells also produce a VHL protein (pVHL19) that appears to arise as a result of internal translation from the second methionine within the VHL ORF. pVHL30 resides primarily in the cytosol, with less ... Additional Notes
- VHL-30 binds TCEB1, TCEB2,FN1 and Cul2 while VHL-19 only binds TCEB1, TCEB2 and Cul2
