Affinity Capture-Western
An interaction is inferred when a bait protein is affinity captured from cell extracts by either polyclonal antibody or epitope tag and the associated interaction partner identified by Western blot with a specific polyclonal antibody or second epitope tag. This category is also used if an interacting protein is visualized directly by dye stain or radioactivity. Note that this differs from any co-purification experiment involving affinity capture in that the co-purification experiment involves at least one extra purification step to get rid of potential contaminating proteins.

CK2 phosphorylates TNFAIP1 to affect its subcellular localization and interaction with PCNA.
TNFAIP1 is a protein which can be induced by tumor necrosis factoralpha (TNFalpha) and interleukin-6 (IL-6), it may play roles in DNA synthesis, DNA repair, cell apoptosis and human diseases. However, very little has been known about how TNFAIP1 acts in these physiological processes. In this paper, CK2beta was identified as a partner of TNFAIP1 by screening the HeLa cDNA ... [more]
