Valosin-containing protein is a multi-ubiquitin chain-targeting factor required in ubiquitin-proteasome degradation.
The ubiquitin-proteasome (Ub-Pr) degradation pathway regulates many cellular activities, but how ubiquitinated substrates are targeted to the proteasome is not understood.
