CDK5RAP2 is a human microcephaly protein that contains a γ-tubulin complex (γ-TuC)-binding domain conserved in Drosophila melanogaster centrosomin and Schizosaccharomyces pombe Mto1p and Pcp1p, which are γ-TuC-tethering proteins.
