Gene Ontology Molecular Function
Affinity Capture-Western
An interaction is inferred when a bait protein is affinity captured from cell extracts by either polyclonal antibody or epitope tag and the associated interaction partner identified by Western blot with a specific polyclonal antibody or second epitope tag. This category is also used if an interacting protein is visualized directly by dye stain or radioactivity. Note that this differs from any co-purification experiment involving affinity capture in that the co-purification experiment involves at least one extra purification step to get rid of potential contaminating proteins.

ADAP Regulates Cell Cycle Progression of T Cells via Control of Cyclin E and Cdk2 Expression through Two Distinct CARMA1-Dependent Signaling Pathways.
Adhesion and degranulation-promoting adapter protein (ADAP) is a multifunctional scaffold that regulates T cell receptor-mediated activation of integrins via association with the SKAP55 adapter and the NF-κB pathway through interactions with both the CARMA1 adapter and serine/threonine kinase transforming growth factor β-activated kinase 1 (TAK1). ADAP-deficient T cells exhibit impaired proliferation following T cell receptor stimulation, but the contribution of ... [more]
