Affinity Capture-Western
An interaction is inferred when a bait protein is affinity captured from cell extracts by either polyclonal antibody or epitope tag and the associated interaction partner identified by Western blot with a specific polyclonal antibody or second epitope tag. This category is also used if an interacting protein is visualized directly by dye stain or radioactivity. Note that this differs from any co-purification experiment involving affinity capture in that the co-purification experiment involves at least one extra purification step to get rid of potential contaminating proteins.

Phosphorylation of RIalpha by cyclin-dependent kinase CDK 2/cyclin E modulates the dissociation of the RIalpha-RFC40 complex.
We have previously demonstrated that the nuclear transport of the second subunit of the Replication Factor C complex, RFC40, by the regulatory subunit, RIalpha, of PKA is cell cycle specific and impairment in this transport results in G(1) arrest. In this study, we have investigated whether the cyclin-dependent kinases play a role in regulating the RIalpha-RFC40 complex formation. In this ... [more]
