Affinity Capture-Western

An interaction is inferred when a bait protein is affinity captured from cell extracts by either polyclonal antibody or epitope tag and the associated interaction partner identified by Western blot with a specific polyclonal antibody or second epitope tag. This category is also used if an interacting protein is visualized directly by dye stain or radioactivity. Note that this differs from any co-purification experiment involving affinity capture in that the co-purification experiment involves at least one extra purification step to get rid of potential contaminating proteins.

Regulation of IL-4 Receptor Signaling by STUB1 in Lung Inflammation.

Wei Q, Sha Y, Bhattacharya A, Fattah EA, Bonilla D, Jyothula SS, Pandit L, Khurana Hershey GK, Eissa NT

Rationale: Interleukin-4 receptor α (IL-4Rα), the common receptor component for IL-4 and IL-13, plays a critical role in IL-4 and IL-13-mediated signaling pathways that regulate airway inflammation and remodeling. However, the regulatory mechanisms underlying IL-4Rα turnover and its signal termination remain elusive. Objectives: To evaluate the role of STUB1 (STIP1 homology and U-Box containing protein 1) in regulating IL-4R signaling ... [more]
