Affinity Capture-Western
An interaction is inferred when a bait protein is affinity captured from cell extracts by either polyclonal antibody or epitope tag and the associated interaction partner identified by Western blot with a specific polyclonal antibody or second epitope tag. This category is also used if an interacting protein is visualized directly by dye stain or radioactivity. Note that this differs from any co-purification experiment involving affinity capture in that the co-purification experiment involves at least one extra purification step to get rid of potential contaminating proteins.

Runt-related transcription factor 2 (RUNX2) inhibits p53-dependent apoptosis through the collaboration with HDAC6 in response to DNA damage.
Runt-related transcription factor 2 (RUNX2) is the best known as an essential protein for osteoblast differentiation. In this study, we have found for the first time that RUNX2 acts as a negative regulator for p53 in response to DNA damage. On DNA damage mediated by adriamycin (ADR) exposure, p53 as well as RUNX2 was induced at protein and mRNA level ... [more]
