Themed Curation Project
S. cerevisiae Kinome
Protein phosphorylation underpins the myriad signalling networks that govern cellular function and behaviour including transcription, translation, DNA replication, RNA processing, cell cycle regulation, metabolism, vesicle trafficking, nuclear transport, organelle biogenesis, responses to nutrients and environmental stresses, and differentiation. Protein interactions are a primary determinant of kinase and substrate specificity, and in turn are influenced by phosphorylation status. This BioGRID project page is designed to allow exploration of the entire yeast kinome and its interactions, including genetic interactions and all mapped sites of protein phosphorylation.
The S. cerevisiae kinome project page builds on a high-throughput mass spectrometric analysis of the protein interactors of all kinases, phosphatases and associated regulatory subunits in the budding yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae (Breitkreutz et al. (2010) A Global Protein Kinase and Phosphatase Interaction Network in Yeast. Science 328:1043-1046. doi: 10.1126/science.1176495) and subsumes a previous static version of the original dataset (yeastkinome.org).
The Kinase and Phosphatase Interactome (Kinome) of S. cerevisiae curation project is on-going and will be updated each month. If you notice errors or missing interactions/publications in this dataset, or otherwise wish to contribute to this project, please contact us at support@thebiogrid.org. All S. cerevisiae kinome database records are freely available for download from pages within this project.
