MYB75 functions in regulation of secondary cell wall formation in the Arabidopsis inflorescence stem.

Bhargava A, Mansfield SD, Hall HC, Douglas CJ, Ellis BE

Deposition of lignified secondary cell walls in plants involves a major commitment of carbon skeletons in both the form of polysaccharides and phenylpropanoid constituents. This process is spatially and temporally regulated by transcription factors, including a number of MYB family transcription factors. MYB75, also called PAP1 (PRODUCTION OF ANTHOCYANIN PIGMENT1), is a known regulator of the anthocyanin branch of the ... [more]

A Protein-Fragment Complementation Assay (PCA) is a protein-protein interaction assay in which a bait protein is expressed as fusion to one of the either N- or C- terminal peptide fragments of a reporter protein and prey protein is expressed as fusion to the complementary N- or C- terminal fragment of the same reporter protein. Interaction of bait and prey proteins bring together complementary fragments, which can then fold into an active reporter, e.g. the split-ubiquitin assay.
