TEL2

L000002913, YGR099W
Subunit of the ASTRA complex, involved in chromatin remodeling; subunit of the telomere cap complex DNA-binding protein specific to single-stranded yeast telomeric DNA repeats, required for telomere length regulation and telomere position effect; involved in the stability or biogenesis of PIKKs such as TORC1
GO Process (3)
GO Function (1)
GO Component (2)
Saccharomyces cerevisiae (S288c)

TOR2

DRR2, phosphatidylinositol kinase-related protein kinase TOR2, L000002323, YKL203C
PIK-related protein kinase and rapamycin target; subunit of TORC1, a complex that regulates growth in response to nutrients and TORC2, a complex that regulates cell-cycle dependent polarization of the actin cytoskeleton; involved in meiosis; TOR2 has a paralog, TOR1, that arose from the whole genome duplication
Saccharomyces cerevisiae (S288c)

Negative Genetic

Mutations/deletions in separate genes, each of which alone causes a minimal phenotype, but when combined in the same cell results in a more severe fitness defect or lethality under a given condition. This term is reserved for high or low throughput studies with scores.

We generated a global genetic interaction network for Saccharomyces cerevisiae, constructing more than 23 million double mutants, identifying about 550,000 negative and about 350,000 positive genetic interactions. This comprehensive network maps genetic interactions for essential gene pairs, highlighting essential genes as densely connected hubs. Genetic interaction profiles enabled assembly of a hierarchical model of cell function, including modules corresponding to ... [more]

Additional Notes

  • Genetic interactions were considered significant if they had a p-value < 0.05 and an SGA score > 0.16 for positive interactions and SGA score < -0.12 for negative interactions.
  • alleles: tel2-15 - tor2-21 [SGA score = -0.1971, P-value = 6.688E-7]
  • alleles: tel2-7 - tor2-21 [SGA score = -0.1613, P-value = 7.456E-20]
