BIT61

YJL058C
Subunit of TORC2 membrane-associated complex; involved in regulation of cell cycle-dependent actin cytoskeletal dynamics during polarized growth and cell wall integrity; BIT61 has a paralog, BIT2, that arose from the whole genome duplication
GO Process (4)
GO Function (0)
GO Component (3)
Saccharomyces cerevisiae (S288c)
PREY

PTC5

PPP1, type 2C protein phosphatase PTC5, YOR090C
Mitochondrial type 2C protein phosphatase (PP2C); involved in regulation of pyruvate dehydrogenase activity by dephosphorylating the serine 133 of the Pda1p subunit; localizes to the intermembrane space and is imported via the presequence pathway and processed by the inner membrane protease (Imp1p-Imp2p); acts in concert with kinases Pkp1p and Pkp2p and phosphatase Ptc6p
Saccharomyces cerevisiae (S288c)

Negative Genetic

Mutations/deletions in separate genes, each of which alone causes a minimal phenotype, but when combined in the same cell results in a more severe fitness defect or lethality under a given condition. This term is reserved for high or low throughput studies with scores.

We generated a global genetic interaction network for Saccharomyces cerevisiae, constructing more than 23 million double mutants, identifying about 550,000 negative and about 350,000 positive genetic interactions. This comprehensive network maps genetic interactions for essential gene pairs, highlighting essential genes as densely connected hubs. Genetic interaction profiles enabled assembly of a hierarchical model of cell function, including modules corresponding to ... [more]
