Negative Genetic
Mutations/deletions in separate genes, each of which alone causes a minimal phenotype, but when combined in the same cell results in a more severe fitness defect or lethality under a given condition. This term is reserved for high or low throughput studies with scores.

Systematic analysis of complex genetic interactions.
To systematically explore complex genetic interactions, we constructed ~200,000 yeast triple mutants and scored negative trigenic interactions. We selected double-mutant query genes across a broad spectrum of biological processes, spanning a range of quantitative features of the global digenic interaction network and tested for a genetic interaction with a third mutation. Trigenic interactions often occurred among functionally related genes, and ... [more]

Additional Notes
- Digenic interaction: Query allele name: srs2-delta+ho-delta; Array allele name: smt3-331 (GI score = -0.311458, p-value = 0.00151; Digenic)
- Digenic interactions in this Synthetic genetic array (SGA) analysis were considered to be significant when epsilon > 0.08 and p < 0.05 (positive genetic interaction) and when epsilon < -0.08 and p < 0.05 (negative genetic interaction).

SMT3 SRS2 | Affinity Capture-MS Affinity Capture-MS An interaction is inferred when a bait protein is affinity captured from cell extracts by either polyclonal antibody or epitope tag and the associated interaction partner is identified by mass spectrometric methods. | High | - | BioGRID | 147981
SRS2 SMT3 | Co-crystal Structure Co-crystal Structure Interaction directly demonstrated at the atomic level by X-ray crystallography. Also used for NMR or Electron Microscopy (EM) structures. If there is no obvious bait-hit directionality to the interaction involving 3 or more proteins, then the co-crystallized proteins should be listed as a complex. | Low | - | BioGRID | 637325
