ShcA is a cytoplasmic signaling protein that supports signal transduction by receptor protein-tyrosine kinases by providing auxiliary tyrosine phosphorylation sites that engage additional signaling proteins. The principal binding partner for tyrosine phosphorylation sites on ShcA is Grb2.
