A new molecular link between defective autophagy and erythroid abnormalities in chorea-acanthocytosis.
Chorea-acanthocytosis is one of the hereditary neurodegenerative disorders known as the neuroacanthocytoses. Chorea-acanthocytosis is characterized by circulating acanthocytes deficient in chorein, a protein of unknown function.
