Affinity Capture-Western
An interaction is inferred when a bait protein is affinity captured from cell extracts by either polyclonal antibody or epitope tag and the associated interaction partner identified by Western blot with a specific polyclonal antibody or second epitope tag. This category is also used if an interacting protein is visualized directly by dye stain or radioactivity. Note that this differs from any co-purification experiment involving affinity capture in that the co-purification experiment involves at least one extra purification step to get rid of potential contaminating proteins.

Association of 75/80-kDa phosphoproteins and the tyrosine kinases Lyn, Fyn, and Lck with the B cell molecule CD20. Evidence against involvement of the cytoplasmic regions of CD20.
CD20, a non-glycosylated cell-surface protein expressed exclusively on B lymphocytes, is one of a family of 4-pass transmembrane molecules that also includes the beta chain of the high affinity receptor for IgE. The precise function of CD20 is unknown, although in vitro effects of CD20-specific antibodies on resting B cells indicate that it is able to transduce an extracellular signal ... [more]
