Affinity Capture-Western

An interaction is inferred when a bait protein is affinity captured from cell extracts by either polyclonal antibody or epitope tag and the associated interaction partner identified by Western blot with a specific polyclonal antibody or second epitope tag. This category is also used if an interacting protein is visualized directly by dye stain or radioactivity. Note that this differs from any co-purification experiment involving affinity capture in that the co-purification experiment involves at least one extra purification step to get rid of potential contaminating proteins.

TRIM3 Negatively Regulates Autophagy Through Promoting Degradation of Beclin1 in Ewing Sarcoma Cells.

Lu Q, Zhang Y, Ma L, Li D, Li M, Liu P, Li J

Ewing sarcoma (ES) is an aggressive neoplasm predominantly occurring in adolescents and has a poor prognosis when metastasized. In the current study, we were aiming to investigate the function of TRIM3 in autophagy in ES cells. The expression of TRIM3 in Ewing sarcoma tissues and normal tissues was examined by quantitative PCR and western blot. The effect of TRIM3 on autophagy ... [more]
