Identification of IQGAP as a putative target for the small GTPases, Cdc42 and Rac1.
Cdc42 and Rac1 have been implicated in the regulation of various cell functions such as cell morphology, polarity, and cell proliferation. We have partially purified a Cdc42- and Rac1-associated protein with molecular mass of about 170 kDa (p170) from bovine brain cytosol. This protein interacted with guanosine 5'-(3-O-thio)triphosphate (GTPgammaS).glutathione S-transferase (GST)-Cdc42 and GTPgammaS++.GST-Rac1 but not with the GDP.GST-Cdc42, GDP.GST-Rac1, or ... [more]

IQGAP1 CDC42 | Affinity Capture-Western Affinity Capture-Western An interaction is inferred when a bait protein is affinity captured from cell extracts by either polyclonal antibody or epitope tag and the associated interaction partner identified by Western blot with a specific polyclonal antibody or second epitope tag. This category is also used if an interacting protein is visualized directly by dye stain or radioactivity. Note that this differs from any co-purification experiment involving affinity capture in that the co-purification experiment involves at least one extra purification step to get rid of potential contaminating proteins. | Low | - | BioGRID | - | |
