Affinity Capture-Western
An interaction is inferred when a bait protein is affinity captured from cell extracts by either polyclonal antibody or epitope tag and the associated interaction partner identified by Western blot with a specific polyclonal antibody or second epitope tag. This category is also used if an interacting protein is visualized directly by dye stain or radioactivity. Note that this differs from any co-purification experiment involving affinity capture in that the co-purification experiment involves at least one extra purification step to get rid of potential contaminating proteins.

STAM2, a new member of the STAM family, binding to the Janus kinases.
We here cloned a cDNA encoding STAM2, a new member of the STAM family, which contains an SH3 domain and ITAM. STAM2 like STAM1 is associated with Jak2 and Jak3, and involved in the signaling for DNA synthesis and c-myc induction mediated by IL-2 and GM-CSF. Co-expression of the SH3 deletion mutants of STAM1 and STAM2 induces an additive effect ... [more]
