Affinity Capture-Western
An interaction is inferred when a bait protein is affinity captured from cell extracts by either polyclonal antibody or epitope tag and the associated interaction partner identified by Western blot with a specific polyclonal antibody or second epitope tag. This category is also used if an interacting protein is visualized directly by dye stain or radioactivity. Note that this differs from any co-purification experiment involving affinity capture in that the co-purification experiment involves at least one extra purification step to get rid of potential contaminating proteins.

LncRNA PVT1 contributes to invasion and doxorubicin resistance of bladder cancer cells through promoting MDM2 expression and AURKB-mediated p53 ubiquitination.
In most bladder cancer (BC) patients, cancer cells will eventually develop chemical resistance causing increased mortality. This study aimed to explore the mechanism of lncRNA plasmacytoma variant translocation 1 (PVT1) in regulating doxorubicin (ADM) resistance of BC cells. We observed that PVT1 expression was upregulated in ADM-resistant BC cells compared with ADM-sensitive BC cells. Downregulation of PVT1 suppressed ADM-resistant BC ... [more]
