In Saccharomyces cerevisiae, the Cdc14 phosphatase plays a well-established role in reverting phosphorylation events on substrates of the mitotic cyclin-dependent kinase (M-Cdk1), thereby promoting mitotic exit and down-regulation of M-Cdk1 activity.
