Gene Ontology Molecular Function
Biochemical Activity (Phosphorylation)
An interaction is inferred from the biochemical effect of one protein upon another, for example, GTP-GDP exchange activity or phosphorylation of a substrate by a kinase. The bait protein executes the activity on the substrate hit protein. A Modification value is recorded for interactions of this type with the possible values Phosphorylation, Ubiquitination, Sumoylation, Dephosphorylation, Methylation, Prenylation, Acetylation, Deubiquitination, Proteolytic Processing, Glucosylation, Nedd(Rub1)ylation, Deacetylation, No Modification, Demethylation.

URI is an oncogene amplified in ovarian cancer cells and is required for their survival.
Abrogation of negative feedback control represents a fundamental requirement for aberrantly activated signaling pathways to promote malignant transformation and resistance to therapy. Here we identify URI, which encodes a mitochondrial inhibitor of PP1γ and PP1γ-mediated feedback inhibition of S6K1-BAD survival signaling, as an oncogene amplified and overexpressed in ovarian cancer cell lines and human ovarian carcinomas. URI is an "addicting" ... [more]
