Affinity Capture-Western

An interaction is inferred when a bait protein is affinity captured from cell extracts by either polyclonal antibody or epitope tag and the associated interaction partner identified by Western blot with a specific polyclonal antibody or second epitope tag. This category is also used if an interacting protein is visualized directly by dye stain or radioactivity. Note that this differs from any co-purification experiment involving affinity capture in that the co-purification experiment involves at least one extra purification step to get rid of potential contaminating proteins.

Critical involvement of RQCD1 in the EGFR-Akt pathway in mammary carcinogenesis.

Ajiro M, Nishidate T, Katagiri T, Nakamura Y

We previously reported an important role of RQCD1 in mammary carcinogenesis through the interaction with Grb10 interacting GYF protein 1 (GIGYF1), Grb10 interacting GYF protein 2 (GIGYF2) and growth factor receptor binding protein 10 (Grb10). In this study, we investigated the biological mechanism of RQCD1 in regulation of the Akt activity as the downstream signal of epidermal growth factor receptor ... [more]
