Synthetic Rescue
A genetic interaction is inferred when mutations or deletions of one gene rescues the lethality or growth defect of a strain mutated or deleted for another gene.

The yeast histidine protein kinase, Sln1p, mediates phosphotransfer to two response regulators, Ssk1p and Skn7p.
The Saccharomyces cerevisiae Sln1 protein is a 'two-component' regulator involved in osmotolerance. Two-component regulators are a family of signal-transduction molecules with histidine kinase activity common in prokaryotes and recently identified in eukaryotes. Phosphorylation of Sln1p inhibits the HOG1 MAP kinase osmosensing pathway via a phosphorelay mechanism including Ypd1p and the response regulator, Ssk1p. SLN1 also activates an MCM1-dependent reporter gene, ... [more]

SLN1 SKN7 | Biochemical Activity Biochemical Activity An interaction is inferred from the biochemical effect of one protein upon another, for example, GTP-GDP exchange activity or phosphorylation of a substrate by a kinase. The bait protein executes the activity on the substrate hit protein. A Modification value is recorded for interactions of this type with the possible values Phosphorylation, Ubiquitination, Sumoylation, Dephosphorylation, Methylation, Prenylation, Acetylation, Deubiquitination, Proteolytic Processing, Glucosylation, Nedd(Rub1)ylation, Deacetylation, No Modification, Demethylation. | Low | - | BioGRID | 151780 | |
