EUG1

protein disulfide isomerase EUG1, L000000589, YDR518W
Protein disulfide isomerase of the endoplasmic reticulum lumen; EUG1 has a paralog, PDI1, that arose from the whole genome duplication; function overlaps with that of Pdi1p; may interact with nascent polypeptides in the ER

GO Function (5)
GO Component (1)
Saccharomyces cerevisiae (S288c)

PKP2

protein kinase PKP2, YGL059W
Mitochondrial protein kinase; negatively regulates activity of the pyruvate dehydrogenase complex by phosphorylating the ser-133 residue of the Pda1p subunit; acts in concert with kinase Pkp1p and phosphatases Ptc5p and Ptc6p; relocalizes from mitochondrion to cytoplasm upon DNA replication stress
GO Process (4)
GO Function (2)
GO Component (1)
Saccharomyces cerevisiae (S288c)

Negative Genetic

Mutations/deletions in separate genes, each of which alone causes a minimal phenotype, but when combined in the same cell results in a more severe fitness defect or lethality under a given condition. This term is reserved for high or low throughput studies with scores.

We generated a global genetic interaction network for Saccharomyces cerevisiae, constructing more than 23 million double mutants, identifying about 550,000 negative and about 350,000 positive genetic interactions. This comprehensive network maps genetic interactions for essential gene pairs, highlighting essential genes as densely connected hubs. Genetic interaction profiles enabled assembly of a hierarchical model of cell function, including modules corresponding to ... [more]
