PSO8, UBC2, E2 ubiquitin-conjugating protein RAD6, L000001560, YGL058W
Ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme (E2); involved in postreplication repair as a heterodimer with Rad18p, DSBR and checkpoint control as a heterodimer with Bre1p, ubiquitin-mediated N-end rule protein degradation as a heterodimer with Ubr1p, as well as endoplasmic reticulum-associated protein degradation (ERAD) with Ubr1p in the absence of canonical ER membrane ligases
Saccharomyces cerevisiae (S288c)

POL30

proliferating cell nuclear antigen, PCNA, L000001463, YBR088C
Proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA); functions as the sliding clamp for DNA polymerase delta; may function as a docking site for other proteins required for mitotic and meiotic chromosomal DNA replication and for DNA repair
Saccharomyces cerevisiae (S288c)

Synthetic Rescue

A genetic interaction is inferred when mutations or deletions of one gene rescues the lethality or growth defect of a strain mutated or deleted for another gene.

Acetylation of PCNA Sliding Surface by Eco1 Promotes Genome Stability through Homologous Recombination.

During DNA replication, proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA) adopts a ring-shaped structure to promote processive DNA synthesis, acting as a sliding clamp for polymerases. Known posttranslational modifications function at the outer surface of the PCNA ring to favor DNA damage bypass. Here, we demonstrate that acetylation of lysine residues at the inner surface of PCNA is induced by DNA lesions. ... [more]

Mutations/deletions in separate genes, each of which alone causes a minimal phenotype, but when combined in the same cell results in a more severe fitness defect or lethality under a given condition. This term is reserved for high or low throughput studies with scores.
